Mega Man 2

In Mega Man 2, Atomic Fire is obtained from Heat Man. Unlike Heat Man's fire wall projectiles, Atomic Fire allows Mega Man to charge up a powerful blast that will deal massive damage to an enemy and eat through smaller enemies on screen. This weapon has three stages of charge that will spend Weapon Energy differently, it's normal state which is a small projectile that takes one unit of energy to fire, a semi-charged state that does slightly more damage but takes six units of energy to fire, and a fully charged state that will deal full damage to most common enemies and use ten units of energy to fire.

This weapon is strong against Wood Man who will be destroyed in two fully charged shots of Atomic Fire.

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge

Atomic Fire acts the same in Dr. Wily's Revenge this time acting as Flash Man's weakness.

Since this weapon is only received so late in the game the player does not have a chance to use it on many smaller enemies.

The Wily Wars

Atomic Fire in The Wily Wars is identical to it's initial appearance in Mega Man 2, it can be used in the remake of Mega Man 2 included in the game and the mode Wily Tower where it is one of the weapons the player can select at the beginning of a stage.
